Week 3

Discussion Title: Analog and Digital

  1. Discuss the differences between analog data vs digital data.
  2. Discuss two type of compression techniques; lossy and loselss compression.

Discuss the difference between analog data vs digital data

Analog data and digital data are both function to transfer the information. But this two analog data and digital data are difference through the way they transfer the data. Analog data will translated the information into electric pulses of varying amplitude such an example cassette tape. Meanwhile the digital data will translated the information into the numbers such an example Cds that use microscopic grooves.

Discuss two type of compression techniques, lossy and loseless compression

Both lossy and lossless compression is for duplicate the data in the graphic. In loseless compression we will get the exact data because algorithm does not lose any part of data when they compress the data. Meanwhile the lossy compression we were not able to get the exact data.
